Set and forget and all in for the nerds
While you CAN just set up the Formula Selva V in its stock configuration, you might want to explore the possibilities. Volumenspacer out of a special foam material, exchangeable damping units (CTS) to dial in the fork into the very details… The Italians provide a different product from what is available in the market. While they are a rather small company, you might haven’t heard from all the options through the big media outlets. They put their money where their mouth is and provide products that aren’t outdated the next season.
Sustainability
A word that is overly used right now and often in the wrong context. We might all be hyped on a fresh, newly launched product; we sometimes forget how good the stuff is we already have. Taking care of it, repairing it, and really dialing it in to work perfectly sometimes is lost along the way of the next big thing.
Formula provides backwards compatibility of their new air system and has plenty of spare parts if you do an unwanted dirt nap and your bike gets tossed in the rockgarden.
Conclusion: Put Formula on your radar
Formula might not have the most flashy marketing, nor are they known by every biker out there. Still, they have a product that can compete with the big dogs out there. If you are looking for an upgrade on your bike, and suspension should be it, you might consider the Italian brand.
Throughout solid. Maybe not shiny, but who needs shiny if you can get reliable and highly tuneable to your specific needs?
